Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions, answered.

Who is GameProjects.com for?

GameProjects.com is for:

1. Independent developers who have games or other projects that they want others to see.

2. Enthusiastic gamers who want to check out the latest creations from independent developers around the world.

Does my project need to be a game?

No, your project can be anything you choose, but it is expected that your project can either run on a game system or is related to games in some way, such as if you have a demo, tool, tutorial, or some other type of interesting project.

Do I have to upload my project files to GameProjects.com?

No. If you'd like to upload your project files, you can. On the other hand, if you have a project on your own site and you wish to promote it, you can do that too. In either case, there is a field in your project description for linking to your own site.

At a minimum, you should upload at least one screenshot representing your project. Even if your project is non-visual, this helps people to identify your work. Also, people are more likely to view your project if it has a screenshot.

Do I have to share my source code?

No, you can share whatever you want. You can share just the executable program, full source code, or both. This applies whether you upload a project file or just link to your own site.

For more information, you may wish to read the first part of the guide on preparing your project.

Why doesn't GameProjects.com support my favorite platform?

Every platform is welcome. If your platform isn't already supported, let us know and it will be added.

When you say "Let Us Know", who is "Us"?

"Us" is really me. I only say "us" because it would be confusing if I said "me" and you didn't know who I was.

What happened to ThreeSixBox.com?

ThreeSixBox.com was launched September 27, 2006 and focused exclusively on XNA projects for the Windows and Xbox 360 platforms. It was renamed to GameProjects.com on February 9, 2007, adding support for other platforms that allow games-related development. This was done to broaden the appeal of the site.
