Uploading Videos
How to upload videos for your project.

Your Choices

You can add videos to your project in either of the following ways:

1. Upload a video file - Upload your .avi, .wmv, .mov, or .mpeg video files directly to GameProjects.com.

2. Add an external video embedding code - This allows you to use videos posted on other sites such as YouTube, Google Video, or MySpace.

You add videos through your project's Videos listing, which can be accessed by editing one of your projects on the My Projects page.

Uploading a Video File

On your project's Videos page you will find the Video Type field. The default video type is Upload File, which indicates that you will select a file in the Video File/Code field.

The only thing you need to do is select a video file from your computer and upload it. The video will be queued for processing and will appear on the site sometime later.

Uploading a Video Embedding Code

You can change the Video Type for a particular video to something else, such as YouTube, indicating that you will copy the embedding code from your video's original page and paste it into the Video File/Code field. Note that when using a video code, you must also select a thumbnail image file.

What follows are instructions on where to find the embedding code on various video sites.

YouTube Embedding Code

The YouTube video embedding code can be found in the description area to the right of your video. This code will be available if you haven't explicitly disabled it from appearing.

Google Video Embedding Code

Finding the Google Video embedding code requires a few steps. First, find and click the following button to the right of your video.

Click the text marked Embed HTML.

The embedding code can be found in the text area that appears.
