Cool. It looks like you completely redid the program. I'll be sure to give it a try later.
Yea, I did, but the viewer part is yours with a few changes. Credit where credit is due. Thanks for the code.
Version 2.0.1 Released November 4th, 2007
Added: always on top option
Added: check for new SceneDrop versions when the program closes
Added: cg.dll to the install
* Version 3.0.0 - November 13th, 2007 Major Upgrade

2. Added> Viewport-like function, with Auto-Reload of .scene on file changes.
3. Added> Detect .scene file changes, and restart active viewer file with viewer in the same size and position.
4. Added> SceneDrop and viewer open in last position.
5. Added> Viewer can open either active or suspended.
6. Added> File menu with Open File dialog, and recent file list.
7. Added> Viewer on top option.
8. Added> Maya exporter file filter. Now accepts standard sceneManager scene type nomenclature.
9. Fixed> Download bug when no internet connection present.
10. Fixed> Dir error on user change of directory.
11. Fixed> Viewer now accepting "interior" sceneType.
12. Pending> Viewer is a CPU resource hog, when suspended. Issue corrected. Next release will have the corrected viewer.
SceneDrop can now act "like" a viewport in your design applications.
If you use 3DS Max (OgreMax exporter), or Maya (Maya exporter) then SceneDrop can mimic a viewport by doing the following:
1. Export your .scene file from the application.
2. Set the Windowed Height and Width in SceneDrop to approximate the viewport dimensions.
3. Open the .scene file in SceneDrop.
4. Position the Viewer over the viewport, and drag the corner of the viewer to match the viewport size.
5. Now make a change in your scene, and export the .scene file again.
6. SceneDrop will automatically reload the .scene in the viewer so you can see the result.
7. In addition, the position and size of the viewer will remain constant, as long as you don't manually close the viewer.
8. Finally, if you want the viewer to always remain visible, then check "Viewer Always On Top" in SceneDrop. If you want the viewer to pop up over the viewport when the .scene is reloaded, then uncheck "Viewer Always On Top."
This feature of SceneDrop should improve workflow greatly.
works great. Although you should get the incremental version out soon even if it's just fixing that cpu problem because you wern't kidding :)
Also the viewer steals the mouse. You should change the viewer to not lock and hide the windows cursor if you can. I've seen on the OIS forums about that and they've posted some code to do it.
Good work!
I'll check with Derek about the cursor. That part of the code is his, and I'm trying to keep things backward compatible with OgreMaxViewer. Although, currently SceneDropViewer isn't backward compatible.
Version 3.1.0 - Minor upgrade
1. Changed> Recent file list expanded to 15.
2. Added> Set user camera speed from menu.
3. Added> Right-click pop-up menu for frequently used menu items.
4. Added> close viewer on SceneDrop close to insure the viewer position is stored correctly.
5. Fixed> CPU resource issue with viewer resolved.
Version 3.1.1 - Bug Fix
1. Fixed> Cursor focus bug in version 3.1.0
can I use ofusion on it ?
I haven't tried that. I stopped using ofusion when I found OgreMax. Let me know what happens if you try it.
when I try to install it it says "invalid command-line parameters, unable to continue", what should I do??
I've never seen that, and no one has reported that before. You said when you try to install it you get an the message. Do you mean when you try to open a .scene file with it?
