The video looks great. Very unique art style and lots of cool effects. I'll give the game a try a little bit later tonight.
I "fired" the game up and played for a bit but I have to say the controls were too frustrating to keep me playing. Strafing, looking up and down...there's just too much to press in the heat of battle. What about using the right stick to turn/look around, and then a trigger button to fire?
Also, it would be best to lighten some of the foreground elements in the underground cavern since they are the same color as the background. I wasn't expecting to bump into them.
Thanks for the feedback.
I tried the dual analog method, I didn't really like how it came out. I'll see about including an alternate control scheme for a future version.
I find that the control scheme works pretty well, but then again I've debugged the game to death. Perhaps I should have made the first level a bit less intense to allow the user to get used to the controls.

This is my entry for Microsoft's DreamBuildPlay competition.
XNA Game Studio Refresh is required to unpack the game. You'll also need an Xbox 360 controller to play it.
Basically the universe has had its colour stolen from it, and its your role to reclaim it. To do this you have to shoot enemies with fireballs matching their trail colour.
It's a little deeper than that, the tutorial level explains it fairly well.
Tell me what you think.
